AXON Services — How DETAY Lab Built a Fully Proprietary IoT System from PCB to Cloud
AXON Services is a fully proprietary IoT access control system built entirely by DETAY Lab — from custom PCB hardware and embedded firmware to cloud management platform and mobile application. Every component is designed, engineered, and owned by DETAY Tech. Deployed across multiple facilities in Kosovo and Switzerland.
The challenge — access control locked into third-party vendors

Hardware layer — Custom PCB Design
DETAY Lab designed custom printed circuit boards for the AXON access control units. The PCB design was optimised for the specific environmental and performance requirements of each deployment: power consumption, form factor, connectivity, and durability.

Firmware layer — Embedded Systems Engineering
DETAY Lab wrote the embedded firmware running on the AXON hardware. Written in C/C++, the firmware handles device communication, access event processing, credential validation, and real-time status reporting — with BLE and WiFi connectivity protocol support.

Cloud layer — Management Platform
The cloud management platform allows operators to administer the full AXON system: adding and removing access credentials, configuring access rules, monitoring events in real time, generating access reports, and receiving security alerts. Accessible via browser. Designed for non-technical administrators.

Mobile layer — Control Application
The mobile application allows authorised users to manage access from their smartphone: unlocking doors, viewing access history, and receiving notifications.
